Although Defne is a relatively new club, it has the experience of generating benefits in a wide range of sports and education fields, brought by its board of directors and members.

Our club, as an association, was established in Istanbul Governorship on July 5, 2017. Defne was registered as a sports club by the Ministry of Youth and Sports on August 18, 2017, and started its activities in the grassroots girls’ handball and football branches.

Defne girls participated in the Istanbul U14 Girl Handball League for the first time in December 2017. After its start in Çekmeköy Nişantepe in January 2018, program expanded to Ümraniye Karabekir in May 2018. In football, in January 2018, Defne girls took field in the Turkey U15 Girls Football qualifiers and secured a space in Turkey Women’s 3rd League.

After pandemic, the efforts were focused on handball only. Now Defne competes in Turkey Women Handball 2nd League and carries three development teams of U12, U14, U16.
